Policies/Warranty

Deposits 

All custom book spots require a $50 down payment. This is both to hold your spot on my books, as well as money that I use to help cover some material costs up front. This deposit is non-refundable. If you back out from your order or do not respond when I come to your spot, you forfeit your place in line. If you would like to get your name on the list again, another deposit must be made to do so. The wait time for a custom knife can range from 3-6 months, but this is a rough estimate and patience is appreciated. If you are ever curious about an update, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Note- If you would like to add a knife to your order when I get to your spot, I will allow for one additional knife to be added onto your order. 

Warranty/Liability 

Any knife you buy from me is guaranteed for quality of build and craftsmanship, and if it fails due to structural integrity under normal use circumstances, I will replace the knife at no cost to you. This does not include a knife breaking due to misuse or abuse, or dropping/accidents. Knives are cutting tools, and prying/whacking/torquing motions on the blade to not constitute as proper use (Unless the knife is a designated chopper and made to do so).

 *I am not personally liable for any injuries sustained when using the knife.*

 

Knife Use/Care

Use extreme caution when handling any knife, but especially one from me, as they come hair popping sharp. The kydex sheath is designed to be removed by applying pressure on the ‘thumb ramp’ near the spine of the blade. Unsheathing in any other manner can be dangerous. 

High Carbon and tool steels are more susceptible to rust, and should be dried and oiled frequently to help prevent this. Discoloration(patina), however, is normal and does not negatively affect the steel. Do not store the blade in the kydex or any other sheath when wet. 

 

Rehandle/Regrind/Spa treatment 

Rehandle- 

Rehandle completion would require 3-5 weeks from the time I receive the knife back to me to the time I ship it back (for non warranty work). I only rehandle my own knives. If you’d like a rehandle, please email me for pricing. 

Regrinds

If you’d like to have the edge on your knife thinner, I can regrind it to do so. Regrinds are typically  $50-$80, but it depends on the steel and size of your knife. Please email with questions. 

Spa Treatment 

A spa treatment can include any/all of the following: Handle refurbish, regrind (thinner), regrind (cleanup), and resharpening. If you’d like a spa treatment for your knife, send me an email for pricing.
